During my time at Rutgers University, I have worked on a handful of projects and papers. While some of these projects, I worked within a group setting, and I would say with the advancement of technology, working in a group is easier than ever.
DCIM Capstone Project: The final project I did for my DCIM Capstone class is the impacts video games have on society. For this project, I made an infographic that shows all the different impacts video games have on the world today. We can see living in a digital era that multiple platforms can be used to partake in playing video games. Many teens today use video games to escape a place where they do not feel welcomed. Let’s take the narrative away that video games impact kids negatively and look at what it is actually doing.
Leadership Competency: Taking the Leadership in Digital Context class at Rutgers, I have learned the importance of the trait leadership and what it takes to become one. The leadership you can view in a handful of different ways, but in reality, it is someone who is putting everybody in front of them. A person who leads a time that anyone can rely on and know they can have their team performing at the highest level. For this paper, you can see how Ashton Kucker has shown the traits of being a digital leader and what it takes to become one.
Smart-Homes: Technology is advancing every day in today’s world, and we are continuing to adapt to these new technologies. While taking my Social Informatics class, I had the opportunity to work on a project on how Smart-Homes are changing homes’ future in front of our eyes. Seeing how technology is making our lives easier by having light bulbs controlled by your phone or being able to control your thermostat while you’re not home. Smart-Homes are making people’s lives less stressful and more comfortable. You can see the different ways smart-homes are taking over in my PowerPoint slide.
Virtual Team Dynamics: While taking Virtual Team Dynamics at Rutgers, I was taught how to work in a team setting. Our PowerPoint slide shows how cooperation and trust can help build a team. Working in a team and having cooperation from each member and trust will ensure that your group will be performing on all cylinders running smoothly and effectively.
Social Media: Social media is an online platform that almost every kid, teen, adult, even grandparents use. While taking Application in Research in Technology, I worked within a group researching social media sites’ usage. Working in a team setting, e set up an online survey and had 60 people take the survey. The data we received from the survey we used to see the breakdown of age, application usage, and different effects on school work and social life.
Fall of Vaping: For this project, I have an infographic on vaping news. Vaping has become a prevalent norm in today’s society, and even though the FDA has approved it for some vapes, many black-market vapes have caused injury and even death. I wanted to show the dangers of vaping and what it does to your body.
